*****ANNOUNCEMENT*****
Mount
Bachelor Star Party
The Mount Bachelor Star Party at Sunriver will LITERALLY be held at
Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory (SRNCO). As you may
know, we have lost our site so the planning committee decided to be
creative and
have the star party, a mini star party, at the location MBSP was
designed to be a fund raiser for.
SRNCO is a full-fledged observatory with a busy public summer
schedule. We have obtained permission to use the facility,
alongside the public programs, for our MBSP.
We
will be providing a barbecue dinner night
and a pizza
night. There will be talks at 8 PM and there should be
several
vendors in attendance as well as the raffle on Saturday
evening.
Viewing will begin as soon as it is dark and the "private
star party"
viewing will begin at 11 when the public programs
end. Security
will be provided for anyone who wants to keep their
equipment set
up and locked storage during the day will be available
as well. The
only difference between this and other star parties is
that
attendees need to provide their own lodging or
campgrounds,
there is NO CAMPING ON SITE!
Preregistration is not required. We
can register you at the SRNCO when you arrive.
