2003 marked the 4th year of the Mt Bachelor Star Party.
Previously the star party was held in September at the upper parking
lot. In 2003 we moved to the July weekend following Table
Mountain Star Party. This would hopefully ensure that we had
better weather and warmer temperatures.
Early arrivers were able to pick
the best spots. And no, those trees weren't a problem.

Nope, not a spaceship, just the
futuristic looking end of the ski lift. This one wasn't in
operation so it made a pleasant 'porch swing' for a couple astronomers.

2003 was the year of Mars closest approach to Earth in 60,000
years. This image was made with a web cam on Thursday night.
